German Focus on Danish Organic Products

Organic Denmark and several organic companies have benefitted from the

positive media coverage after the articles in the German gourmet magazine

Port Culinaire and the participation at the German chef symposium

Chef-Sache. To prolong the ride on this wave of success, Organic Denmark

has therefore together with the Danish Embassy in Berlin organised another

event in Germany to promote Danish organic products.

The 8th of November 2010, a BtB-customer forum was held in the Felleshus

at the Nordic Embassy in Berlin, Germany. Several representatives from the

German wholesale, retail and foodservice industry had been invited to meet

Danish organic companies. The kitchen in the Embassy’s Felleshus supported

the event by serving organic food inspired by the New Nordic Cuisine.

The German visitors took part in the guided tours among the Danish

companies’ stands. During the tour, the visitors had the opportunity to see all

of the companies’ high quality organic products. Afterwards there was an

opportunity to proceed with 1-on-1 discussions in order to network and set up

agreements and even contracts.

The Danish companies that took part in the event were Crispy Food,

Skytte’s Rhubarbs, the Dairy Naturmælk, Thise Dairy, Friland A/S,

Skaertoft Moelle, Rose Poultry, Nakskov Mill Food, Knuthenlund,

Woodshade Organics, Soeris, Graasten Fjerkrae, Magnihill and Oellingegaard.

When Organic Denmark and the Embassy afterwards revised the event, the

Embassy only had praise for the Danish companies’ effort at the event and

the German representatives from the wholesale, retail and foodservice

industry were all very impressed by the selection of high quality organic food

products. The visit at the Embassy resulted in the Danish companies making

great contacts and several supplier contracts have been signed.
