Export activities

During the fall of 2010, Organic Denmark has been busy organising export events, especially on the German market. The increasing interest in the New Nordic Cuisine has also meant an increasing interest in Danish organic products as the two are closely intertwined. The New Nordic Cuisine is based on ingredients that represent simplicity, purity and freshness and this correlates beautifully with the organic idea. You can therefore not have a New Nordic Cuisine without Nordic organic products.

New Nordic Cuisine has therefore been a constant in the export events in 2010. It all started when Organic Denmark organised an organic tour of Denmark for the German gourmet magazine Port Culinaire. This resulted in a 22-page feature about the New Nordic Cuisine and Danish organic producers.

This led us to attending the top-chef symposium, Chef-Sache, in Germany.

After that we organised a B2B event together with the Danish Embassy in Berlin.

At the same time, we worked together with the German supermarket chain Konsum Dresden to promote Danish organic food products.

Moreover, the German magazine Ein Herz für Bio also participated in the organic tour of Denmark and this resulted in an article about Denmark and Danish organic products. However this is not the only article about Denmark, as Ein Herz für Bio continuously writes stories about ecology in Denmark.

Finally, we are at the moment preparing another successful Nordic stand at the BioFach fair in February 2011.
